I hope the Parks and recreation department will take advantage of this cold snap to build up and resurface the rink in Rosedale park .

I would like that , I find the ice rather "slow" there. You think that they could make something that could do the job with out having to resort to a Zamboni .

I think the weather is too unstable these days (years) for outdoor rinks.
Unless you have a group of dedicated locals who spring to action when weather conditions are optimal.
Parks and Rec? No money.

Why not set up a volunteer group to be responsible. By casually approaching city hall it could happen. I'm sure Kyle Rae(Councillor for Rosedale)would welcome the free publicity that a citizens commitee would generate for him.
